YES, I would create a $50 Logo.

Wait, What?

Read on….

A couple of weeks ago, I shared a post about an interesting scenario: What if a client approached you with a $50 budget for a logo? I received a range of thoughtful, funny, and thought-provoking responses, and it was truly enlightening.

Even after all of that, I would create a $50 logo.

BUT ONLY UNDER PARTICULAR CIRCUMSTANCE

1) The Million/Billion Dollar Idea: If the client possesses a game-changing million or billion-dollar idea, count me in! I’d love to be part of that ground-floor opportunity. You never know who is going to be the next big thing like Chat GPT.

2) Assessing the Situation: I’d also evaluate the client’s existing assets:

Do they have a YouTube channel, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or other social media presence?
Do they run a profitable Shopify store or similar platform?
Do they offer a unique product in a low-competition market?
If these elements align, creating a comprehensive brand identity might be the way to go, making it my second choice after the big idea.

3) A Commitment to Quality: I’d insist on a discovery call to gauge the client’s commitment to doing things right. It’s vital they understand the importance of a thoughtful process from start to finish, including a discovery call leading to a polished logo. you can use zoom for free

4) Availability of Time: Availability is key. While circumstances like these may be rare, I’d examine the idea if all the factors align.

To make an informed decision, I’d gather all the facts upfront. Rather than pursuing $50 logos for everyone, I see it as a strategic decision. Quality over quantity, always.

$50 will most likely never cover the expenses, nor will the promise of, or even the potential for, “exposure”. One offers instant gratification, while the other holds the possibility of a delayed and possible promise of a reward.

Though it’s not likely, close to not possible, but if someone has all the necessary components in place for a profitable venture, I believe that if I can afford to postpone immediate results (and or a low payout like $50) for a strategic advantage in the future, it’s worth exploring.

Do you love the idea? Are you totally against even thinking about it?
